Requesting an appointment
To request a GP appointment, regardless of urgency, please contact us online and submit a ‘medical request’ via Accurx. We will endeavour to respond to all requests on the same day.
If you do not have access to the internet or a smart device, you can visit our reception and submit your request through the tablet or at the reception desk. Alternatively, you can call us on 020 8363 4156, and a member of our team will assist you in submitting your request.
New appointment system
We have now switched to a new system called Total Triage (Modern General Practice). The system is designed to make your life easier and help you get the care you need more quickly.
Nursing appointments
You can make an appointment to see a nurse for dressings, stitch removals, child and adult immunisations, smear tests and annual checks for high blood pressure, diabetes and chronic lung conditions such as asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis. These appointments can be booked up to four weeks in advance. Too book an appointment with the nurse or healthcare assistant you can submit your request online (link) or call us on 020 8363 4156 and select option 3
Urgent appointments
We reserve a proportion of appointments for patients with acute illnesses who need to be seen the same day. These are for urgent health problems only and after the triage will be offered to those patients who need them, we ask patients to only request an urgent appointment for health problems that need immediate attention. Such appointments should not be requested for obtaining medication, medical or sick certificates (admin request)(link?) or for routine health problems (medical request) (link?).
Urgent on-the-day or next-day appointments may not be with the doctor or nurse of your choice. You may be seen by a GP or another health professional, such as a nurse practitioner or clinical pharmacist.
Some problems can be dealt with by telephone. To ensure we can meet the needs of as many patients as possible, you may be offered a telephone consultation with a GP if your problem can be managed in this way. If you believe a doctor may be able to deal with your problem by telephone, please advise us in your medical request or when you call.
Seven day access hub
For urgent evening or weekend appointments with a doctor or nurse, please call 111. If it’s for a routine matter, you can visit one of Enfield’s 7 day access hubs by calling 0300 033 3666. Both numbers are free to call from landlines and mobiles.
The local 7 day access hubs are based at Evergreen Surgery in Edmonton Green.
The hubs are open 6:30pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm on weekends and public holidays.
There is also a walk in service available between 8am and 8pm at Carlton House and Evergreen on weekends and public holidays.
Please note, GPs and nurses at the hubs have only partial access to your medical records. The service is not suitable for medicals, the completion of medical reports, patients requesting medical certificates or fit notes or for those requiring travel vaccinations.
Which doctor? – Your named GP
All our patients have a usual GP with overall responsibility for their care and support. This includes dealing with your prescriptions, test results, clinical letters and reports.
Patients are not prevented from seeing any other GP at the practice if they wish to do so and can consult with any doctor at the practice, subject to availability. Please note however that urgent appointments will be made with the designated duty doctor or nurse.
Your appointment
However, if you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Delays
Sometimes, problems take longer to resolve than expected, and a doctor or nurse may be called to treat an emergency. We will try to keep you informed if your appointment is delayed.

Interpreting services
If English is not your first language or you believe you may not be able to understand a doctor or nurse, please attend with a person who can speak on your behalf. Telephone interpreting can be arranged in advance for a range of languages. If you require an interpreter, please inform the Receptionist when booking the appointment.
Home visits
Home visits are offered to those patients too ill to attend the surgery or those that are housebound. Please note that a lack of transport is not a sufficient reason for a home visit and children should be brought to the surgery in accordance with national guidelines.
If you believe that you or a relative may require a home visit, please contact the practice as early as possible by submitting medical request on our website or calling 020 8363 4156. The duty doctor may be able to address your problem by phone or may refer you to a suitable local service to address it.
