Teaching and training

White Lodge has been a training practice for 50 years and is currently part of the Enfield and Haringey GP Training Scheme. In addition to trainee GPs, we also provide education and training to junior doctors, medical undergraduates and future practice nurses.

GP training and foundation year training schemes

As a training practice, we have doctors (GP registrars) attached to us for the final year of their GP training to gain experience of general practice. In addition to GP registrars, the practice also hosts junior doctors (foundation year 2 trainees) seeking to gain some experience of general practice as part of a wider training programme.

Teaching surgeries

The practice is linked to several Hospital Medical schools including the Royal Free, University College and King’s College. You will be informed if students are with the doctor or nurse when you arrive for your appointment, but if you would rather see the doctor alone, please tell the receptionist. Please note that while your medical records may be seen by doctors, medical students or nurses during their training, your confidentiality will always be respected.

Clinical studies and trials

The practice sometimes assists in medical research by carrying out clinical studies and trials. If your condition meets the criteria for a particular study, your doctor may ask you if you are willing to take part. Participation is voluntary.
